A great trend that draws on the simplicity of the bagged lunch are boxed meals at parties.  It is a great idea to save time and money! Also, the boxes present another opportunity to add elements of your decor or even to personalize them for your guests.

We are using a boxed lunch for our upcoming first birthday party, which has a farm inspired theme.  This route allows us to work within the two hour time limit that we have at the venue AND everything is disposable, which makes for easy and quick cleanup.  This is a great option for those events that occur at venue or outside locations.  Our boxes will be decorated with printables and some will even get an animal treatment (pigs, cows, and chicks) using some farm animals found in the Silhouette store.  They also have boxes in the shapes of the animals as well!

We found a great example of this boxed lunch on the blog ON SUTTON PLACE and she gives great tips about how to plan, pack, and store the boxes.  Are these not the cutest things!

I couldn’t end this post without sharing one of my absolute FAVORITE weddings that used the picnic boxes and combined it with a country theme! It is absolutely gorgeous and the photos by Eric Kelley Photography captures all of its colorful glory! You have to visit the blog and drool look over all of the photos!
