So we just wrapped up the 30th birthday party this past Friday, and I must say that it was deemed a success. Although we ended up with less guests than expected, the ones that did come loved the food, drinks, games, and dancing. My motto is to enjoy the ones who made the effort to celebrate with you and forget the idea that a large number of attendees equal success. The shrunken guest list did affect the setup of the game tournament that we wanted to do, so we ended up not doing it. Anyway, before we share photos from the event, we wanted to share a few things that we didn’t get to talk about before the party. One thing was the food that we provided.
Since Mario and Luigi from Super Mario Brothers fame are Italian, we decided to go with an Italian themed menu. [SN: Did you know Mario and Luigi’s last name is MARIO, so Mario’s name is Mario Mario! Weird, and I never put the “Mario Brothers” together with that fact.]
Anyway, back to the menu! The menu included:
- Italian Pulled Pork Sliders w/ Hawaiian Rolls
- Caprese Bites
- Fruit Kabobs
- Saucy Wings
- Meatball Sliders
- Crudite Shooters
- Layered Pizza Dip with Garlic Bread
We served everything as small bites, which we hoped encouraged people to nibble throughout the night. We are still getting used to planning for the amount of food based on the number of party guests, but I guess we will get better with more practice!
